The Saddlebrooke SkyGazer Star Party at the Softball Field parking lot is Wednesday, January 15, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. It is currently predicted to be ____ temperatures in the ___. It might be canceled due to the weather. Look up before you come and if cloudy, check your email concerning the star party.
There will be a 17-day old moon rising 7:40 PM. Highlights include Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Andromeda Galaxy, Pegasus Globular Cluster (M15), the Double Star Cluster and more.
Come observe the night sky. Bring telescopes, binoculars, or just yourself and friends. Open to all Saddlebrooke residents & their guests.
Try not to shine headlights into the viewing area which is at the south end of the parking lot. Using phones and flashlights will destroy your night vision, so try not to do that around the viewing area. Red lights are preferable at star parties. It is not a good idea to touch telescopes while viewing because they move easily and the object may move out of view.
If you’re bringing a telescope or binoculars give yourself time to set up before the start.
